Last month, BayInfotech partnered with East Bay non-profit Love Never Fails to offer mentorship and support as a part of the charity's ITBiz program. The organization's 14-week curriculum provides technology and entrepreneurial training as well as life skills support to members of underserved and underrepresented communities in order to help them secure financially sustainable careers in the Tech industry.
Founded by Vanessa Russell, Senior Sales Business Development Manager at Cisco, the non- profit is "dedicated to the restoration, education and protection of those involved or at risk of becoming involved in domestic sex trafficking," using community activism and involvement to make a difference in local neighborhoods. For her work, Russell was given Time Magazine's 2017 Inspire a Difference- Everyday Hero award.
Working alongside corporate members from Nvidia, The Gap, and CCA, BayInfotech helped conduct Mock interviews with ITBiz students to prepare them to compete for professional careers in the San Francisco-Bay Area. Through these interviews, students were presented with common questions and given valuable experience interacting with hiring managers and executives.
Maulik Shyani, Head of Business Development for BayInfotech, said, "it was really rewarding and satisfying to spend a Saturday preparing these students for an interview to get into the IT Industry. Kudos to Vanessa Russell on nurturing and developing such an amazing non-profit organization."
As a part of their continued involvement, BayInfotech provides extended support to the program by sponsoring students in their education and pursuit of careers in the Tech field.
